Privacy Policy

Effective 7 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information SeeRanked collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language so you don't need a lawyer to understand it.

1. Who we are

SeeRanked Inc. ("SeeRanked", "we", "us") operates the AI-visibility tracking product available at seeranked.com. When we talk about "the Service" we mean the SeeRanked web app, dashboards, reports, and any APIs we make available.

2. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the Service and support you. Specifically:

  • Account details: your name, work email, and (optionally) a company name you provide at signup.
  • Campaign inputs: business keyword, category, website address, locations, competitor names, prompts, and social profile URLs you enter yourself.
  • Billing metadata: your subscription tier, billing period, and payment transaction IDs. Card numbers, CVCs, and billing addresses go directly to our payment processor. We never see or store them.
  • Usage data: pages you visit inside the web app, actions you take (create campaign, re-run report, etc.), timestamps, and error logs. We keep this to debug issues and improve the product.
  • Cookies and local storage: a JWT session token stored in localStorage so you stay signed in, plus the first-party analytics cookies described in section 3.

3. Site analytics and cookies

We measure how people find and use seeranked.com so we can see which of our posts and ads bring customers and where the site or the web app is confusing. We do this with our own analytics, built into the site, rather than a third-party analytics service. It records:

  • Which pages you look at, how long each one is on screen while you are active, how far you scroll, and which parts of the home page you read.
  • Which buttons and links you click: the label of the control only, never anything you type into a form.
  • How you arrived: the site that linked to us and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source).
  • Your browser and device type, and your approximate location (city, region and country) estimated from your IP address. We use the IP address only for that estimate and never store it.
  • If you create an account, this visit history is linked to it, so we can see which campaign brought you and help you get value from your report. We may also ask you once how you heard about us.

To recognise your browser between visits we set a first-party cookie (sr_vid) containing a random ID, kept for 13 months, plus a cookie that remembers your cookie choice (sr_consent). If your browser is set to the UK, EU or EEA, we do not set the ID cookie until you accept it on the banner. Until you choose, and if you decline, your visit is still counted but without any identifier stored in your browser, so a later visit cannot be linked to it.

Detailed page views and clicks are deleted after 13 months. Visit summaries and account milestones (such as when a report was first opened) are kept with your account and removed with it. Our own staff and test accounts are excluded from these numbers.

Location estimates use the free DB-IP IP to City Lite database (IP Geolocation by DB-IP), used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.

4. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Run your campaigns and generate the reports you signed up for.
  • Send you account emails (email verification, password resets, invoices, report-ready notifications, and report reminders, which you can turn off from any reminder).
  • Enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
  • Answer support questions when you write to us.
  • Improve the product by looking at aggregate usage patterns.

We don't sell your personal information. Ever.

5. Who we share it with

We share the minimum data required with a small set of trusted service providers:

  • Payment processor: payment processing and subscription management.
  • AI providers: generate the analysis on your campaigns and suggest prompts while you set up a campaign. We send them your keyword, category, website address, target locations and prompt text; we do not send them your email or billing details.
  • Email delivery provider: for transactional email only.
  • Team messaging provider: internal notifications to our team when a campaign is created or a payment is made.
  • Hosting provider: where our servers and database run.
  • Crash-reporting provider: receives crash and error reports from our Android app, with device details but not your name, email address or account (section 11).
  • Push notification provider: delivers the Android app's "report ready" notifications (section 11).

Our Android app also connects directly to these services (section 11 explains each):

  • Logo services: we share brand domains (the website domains of your business, your competitors and other brands named in your reports) with them so the app can show logos.
  • The app store: checks for app updates using device metadata, the app version and the list of installed app modules.
  • Google, if you choose Continue with Google: Google gives the app a sign-in token, which the app sends to our servers.

We may also disclose information if legally required (e.g. valid court order) or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SeeRanked, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention and account deletion

We keep your campaign reports for as long as your account is active so you can compare progress over time. If you cancel your subscription but keep your account, your data remains available according to your plan.

When you delete your account: If you are the account admin, you can delete your workspace in the SeeRanked Android app (Account → Delete account) or on the website (Settings → Delete account). Team members, or anyone who can't sign in, can email support@seeranked.com to ask for deletion. Your account is deactivated immediately: every team member loses access at once and can no longer sign in, and any active subscription is cancelled so you are not billed again. Your personal information, campaign inputs, reports, team records, and other data tied to that workspace are then permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request.

During that 30-day period your data is retained only so we can complete billing wind-down, honour any legal obligations, and process the deletion safely. After 30 days it is permanently removed from our production systems. Copies in encrypted backups may take up to 90 days to roll off our backup retention cycle.

If you only cancel billing without deleting your account, we do not automatically erase your data. Contact us or use Delete account when you want it removed.

You can also delete a single campaign without deleting your account, in the Android app or on the website, once it is archived (or before our team has started work on it) and if you have permission to edit campaigns. This permanently deletes the campaign and its reports. To have any other data deleted, email support@seeranked.com.

Aggregated, anonymised analytics that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords (bcrypt), scoped database access, and rate-limited endpoints. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee against every possible breach, but we take our obligations seriously and will notify you promptly if we ever discover an incident affecting your account.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data (most of it you can edit yourself in Settings).
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data (account admins: Settings → Delete account; we permanently erase workspace data within 30 days).
  • Export your reports as PDF or CSV.
  • Object to certain uses of your data, including asking us to exclude your account from site analytics.

To exercise any of these, email support@seeranked.com. We respond within 30 days.

9. Children

SeeRanked is a B2B product for businesses. It's not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we'll email you and update the Effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. SeeRanked Android app

Our Android app is part of the Service and signs in to the same SeeRanked account, so the rest of this policy applies to it too. It sends our servers the account details and campaign inputs described in section 2, plus any archive reasons and problem reports you send. This section covers what else the app sends: what, why, who receives it, and how long it is kept.

  • Crash reports: if the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to our crash-reporting provider so we can find and fix the problem. A report holds the error details, the app version and device details such as the phone model and Android version, and may carry a random ID for this installation of the app that is not linked to your account. It does not include your name, email address or account, and the provider is set not to store IP addresses. Reports are deleted automatically after at most 90 days.
  • Notifications: to tell you when a report is ready, the app registers your phone with our push notification provider, which gives the phone a device identifier and a push token. When a report is ready, our servers ask the provider to deliver the notification, which carries the campaign's keyword and the IDs the app needs to open the report. We use this only for "report ready" notifications. When you sign out, the app takes the phone off your account's notifications. We do not store these identifiers; the provider keeps them under its own retention terms.
  • Logos: to show logos on report screens, the app sends brand domains (the website domains of your business, your competitors and other brands named in your reports) to logo services. Like any website, they also see your phone's IP address. They never receive your account ID, email address or sign-in token. What they keep is set by their own privacy policies.
  • Approximate location and sign-in events: when you create an account in the app, our servers estimate your city, region and country from your IP address, as they do on the website, and record when you sign up, sign in and verify your email. We use this for our own analytics (section 3) and keep it with your account until it is deleted. Section 3 explains how we handle the IP address itself.
  • App updates: once each time you open the app, the app store's in-app update service checks for a newer version, using device metadata, the app version and the list of installed app modules. This goes to the app store, not to us; the app store says it does not pass this data to third parties and deletes it after a fixed retention period.
  • Sign in with Google: if you choose Continue with Google, Google gives the app a sign-in token with your Google name, email address and Google account ID, and the app sends it to our servers to sign you in. We keep your Google account ID with your account so you can sign in the same way next time; it is deleted with your account.

The app has no advertising or analytics SDK, does not use your advertising ID, does not record your taps or screens, and has no access to your location, contacts, camera, photos or microphone. Everything it sends is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). When you share a report, you choose where the link goes. Links in the app to our Terms, this policy and our booking page open in your browser and carry none of your data.
